After moving to Ghana and obtaining her license, Stefanie has worked for the next two years at the Family Health Hospital and Medical School in Teshie, a private hospital in Accra, where she oversaw the daily activities as a Senior Nurse at the Outpatient Department, the Emergency Ward and the Operating Room.
She subsequently joined the Canadian High Commission in Accra in 2009, where she oversaw the mission’s clinic and delivered healthcare related services to the mission’s employees and their dependents.
In 2011 she chose to take on a second role at the mission, becoming the Community Coordinator responsible for advising diplomatic personnel posted to Ghana.
She offered services such as pre-arrival information advice, general and medical orientation tours and school placements for wards until 2013. She further took on a six months assignment with the British High Commission in Accra as the Community Liaison Officer, offering similar services to British Nationals.
In 2011 she became the Healthcare Coordinator for the Canadian High Commission and acted as an adviser to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee until 2016. Stefanie currently delivers Medical Plan Administrative Services to the Canadian Mission in Ghana responsible for the following: ( pre- authorizing medical bills for payments, evaluating medical insurance proposals, assessing new and existing medical facilities and engaging medical facility operators in periodic service review meetings to ensure expectations for both patients and facility owners are met).
In 2017 Stefanie founded Pro MediConsult Ghana where she devotes most of her time working on various projects around the country. In her spare time she works with the Liver Cancer Foundation in Ghana, a non- profit organization, dedicated to improving the lives of patients living with Liver Cancer Disease in Ghana.
